Professional Fellows Program (PFP)

PFP is a two-way, global exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The program is designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, and build lasting and sustainable partnerships between mid-level emerging leaders from foreign countries and the United States. The defining element of the program for foreign participants is a substantive five- to six-week fellowship placement in a U.S. workplace complemented by a collaborative project in their home country. 

Fellows come from a variety of professional backgrounds including but not limited to: 

  • Startup Business Development 

  • Social Entrepreneurship 

  • Accelerators and Incubators 

  • Small & Medium-sized Enterprises 

  • Marketing & Business Management 

  • Community Development

Eligibility criteria 

  • Be between 25-35 years old 

  • Be a citizen of Belarus* 

*Citizens of Belarus residing outside of Belarus are eligible to apply, provided they left Belarus no earlier than August 2020. 

  • Speak fluent English 

  • Have at least two years relevant work experience and be currently employed 

  • Have demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills

The selection of candidates for the PFP program is carried out by the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus with support from American Councils for International Education. Short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview.
